End of Tax Year 2007/08 - Notes for STAFF System users

You should have already received our Year End documents:

• STAFF System March 08 Newsletter
• End of Year 2007/08 Documentation, procedures and changes
• End of Year 2007/08 Documentation, part 2, PAYE bands changes for May 18th.
• Guideline for on-line filing (note that there are no changes from 2007 so we have not updated this document)

There is an update to the NI Number checker, just copy this new version to your STAFF programs directory.

These documents list the various software that you will need. If you have filed on-line previously you will only need:

• STAFF System programs updated for the Year End updated 21/4/08
• The HMR&C Desktop Validation tool, you may need to install the Java Run-time v 1.4.2. See our March Newsletter for details of using this tool
• a tool to ensure you are set for live submission

And if you have not file on-line then in addition you will need:

• a set of utilities used by the STAFF System, you will need this is you haven't filed on-line before. Install on the computer running the STAFF System
• the Microsoft MSXML3 utility Service Pack 5 (follow the link, go to Downloads page and search for MSXML3 sp5). Install this on the computer running the STAFF System
• the Gateway Sample Client and follow the link to the VB6 Sample Client application (link in left hand pane). Then select the download of the application.
• and the actual upload software. This and the Client software above must be installed on the computer that you will be using to perform the upload.
